NEWS FEED: DFA chief is richest Cabinet secretary; Luistro, poorest - 16 MAY 2012

MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) - Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario is the “richest” Cabinet member while Education Secretary Armin Luistro remains the “poorest,” according to their latest statements of assets, liabilities and net worth (SALN), copies of which were released by Malacañang.

Del Rosario declared a net worth of P657,834,755 in his 2011 SALN. He listed zero liability.
Luistro, a La Sallian brother, declared a net worth of P739,006.14, which constitutes his cash on hand and in banks. He listed no real property and no liability.

Presidential adviser on political affairs Ronald Llamas declared a net worth of P5.0178 million.

Notably, Llamas also declared and itemized the five firearms that he owns, including the controversial AK-47 (worth P38,000, acquired in 2011) that was discovered when his vehicle figured in an accident involving two of his staff members. 

He also owns a Para O pistol worth P90,000 (acquired in 2010); a 9mm Beretta pistol worth P40,000 (1995); Bushmaster M-16 worth P150,000 (2010); and a Glock pistol worth P35,000 (2011).

Llamas also declared a motorcycle, a Harley-Davidson Fat Boy (1450 cc), worth P875,000, acquired in 2011.
